Sausage Stuffing
Ingredients
1 ½ cup butter
1/3 cup olive oil
1 ½ cup chopped celery
1 ½ cup chopped onions
1 lb mild Italian sausage
1 lb hot sausage
1 lb sage sausage
½ -1 lb smoked sausage
1 pan cornbread
1 pkg of seasoned cornbread mix
1 Tbsp sage
½ tsp garlic salt and pepper
3-4 cups of turkey or chicken broth
1 pkg of onion soup mix
Instructions
In large pot, melt butter and add olive oil, chopped celery, chopped onions, Italian sausage, hot sausage, sage sausage and smoked sausage.
Cook sausage mixture with the onion and celery mixture. Cook this on medium to medium low heat for 15-20 minutes.
Once cooked, add in 6 cups fresh crumble cornbread, seasoned cornbread mix, garlic salt and pepper to taste.
Mix all ingredients together
Add onion soup mix in broth and boil for 5 minutes. Pour broth over dressing mixture until moistened but not too wet.
Place stuffing into baking dish. Cover with foil. Bake for 45 minutes on 350 degrees.
Remove foil and brown for 5 minutes.
