Tomato Soup

Ingredients

1/4 cup butter

1/4 cup flour

1 teaspoon curry powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

1 teaspoon minced garlic

1 teaspoon black pepper

1 teaspoon sugar

28 oz can crushed tomatoes

4 cups chicken broth

1 cup tomato juice

1 cup heavy whipping cream

 

Instructions

In a heavy saucepan add butter and flour. Cook just to form bubbles, don't brown. Strain the tomatoes to get all the peelings out or use an immersion blender to blend them up. In the saucepan add tomatoes, broth, all spices and tomato juice. Cook for 10 minutes then add heavy whipping cream. Stir well and ready to serve with bread or crackers.
