Easy Biscuits
3 cups all-purpose flour
3 teaspoons baking powder
1 tablespoon sugar
1 teaspoon salt
3/4 teaspoon cream of tartar
1/2 cup cold butter (1 stick)
1 cup cheddar cheese, shredded
1 1/4 cups milk
Preheat the oven to 450 degrees.
In a large bowl whisk flour, baking powder, sugar, salt and cream of tartar. Add in the butter and mix till it resembles coarse crumbs. Stir in the cheese and add the milk. Stir just until it’s moistened.
Grease your pan and drop spoonful (about 1/4 cup) of dough in pan. Space the dough 2 inch apart.
Bake for 18-20 minutes or until golden brown.
TIP:
You can freeze the butter and cut into cubes, using a food processer add the butter and all dry ingredients. Pulse until it in crumbles. Pour your mixture into a bowl and add the milk.
