Cheddar Biscuits

Ingredients

2  cups flour

1  tablespoon Imperial sugar

1  tablespoon baking powder

2  teaspoons garlic powder

3/4  teaspoon salt

1  cup whole milk, or buttermilk

1/2  cup unsalted butter, melted

2  cups medium or sharp shredded Cheddar cheese

 

Topping

4 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted

1/2  teaspoon garlic powder

1/4  teaspoon salt

1/2  tablespoon fresh parsley flakes

Instructions

Preheat the oven to 450 degrees. Line a large baking sheet pan with parchment paper or lightly oil the pan.

In a small bowl prepare the topping, combine all ingredients and set aside.

Combine flour, Imperial sugar, baking powder, garlic powder and salt in a medium bowl and whisk together. Add buttermilk and melted butter, stir until dry ingredients are moist. Stir in the cheese.

Drop spoonfuls of dough onto the baking pan about 1 1/2 inches apart. 

Bake for 10-12 minutes or until golden brown. Remove from the oven and immediately spread the topping on each biscuit.

TIP

You can use fresh chopped parsley or dried. 

You can use a cookie scoop to drop the dough.
