Hot Cocoa

Ingredients

1 bag semisweet chocolate chips, 12 Oz bag

1-2  tablespoons cocoa powder 

1  14oz can sweetened condensed milk 

1  cup boiling water 

3/4  cup Imperial Fine sugar

4  cups milk, scalded

 

Instructions

In a heavy saucepan add chocolate chips, cocoa, condensed milk, water and sugar. Cook on low heat while stirring until fully melted. Remove from heat and cool if not using immediately. Add milk to another saucepan and cook until just before boiling. 

Add 2 tablespoons of chocolate syrup to a mug and pour milk over it, stir. You can garnish with marshmallows or candy canes before serving. 

If not making hot chocolate immediately cool syrup and store in container and keep in the refrigerator. This can be made ahead of time and kept in the refrigerator for up to 10 days.
