Garlic Cheese Bread

Ingredients

2 1/2 cups flour

2 teaspoons yeast

1 tablespoon sugar

1 teaspoon salt

1 cup warm milk (110-115 )

1/4 cup melted butter, unsalted

1 egg, beaten

1/2 cups grated Parmesan cheese

2 cups shredded cheddar cheese

1 teaspoon dried oregano

1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped

1 teaspoon garlic powder

Instructions

In a large mixing bowl or stand mixer using hook attachment, combine the flour, yeast, sugar and salt. Add the warm milk, melted butter and egg to the dry ingredients. Mix until a soft dough is formed. If using a mixer, mix for a minute.

If using your hands then turn out on a floured surface and knead for about five minutes.

Place dough in a greased bowl and cover with a clean towel. Let rise for an hour or doubled in size.

Preheat the oven to 375 degrees. Grease a bundt pan.  In a medium bowl combine the cheddar cheese, Parmesan cheese, parsley, garlic powder and dried oregano. Mix well and set aside.

When the dough has risen punch down the dough. Divide the dough into small pieces. Shape each piece into a ball then flatted into a round disk. Coat each piece in the cheese mixture. Arrange the coated disk in the bundt pan, standing up to form layers.

Cover the bundt pan with clean towel and let rise again for 30 minutes.

Bake for 25-30 minutes.

Remove from the oven and let cool in pan for 5 minutes. Invert onto a plate and pull apart bread.
