Marble Pound Cake
Marble Pound Cake
Ingredients
2 ¾ cup All purpose flour
1 cup salted butter, softened
2 Cups fine granulated sugar
1 Tablespoon vanilla extract
4 large eggs
½ cup sour cream
¾ cup whole milk
1 ½ teaspoons baking powder
½ teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon flaked sea salt
2/3 cup mini chocolate chips (can chop regular size chocolate chips if you don’t have minis)
½ cup cocoa powder
Instructions:
Pre-heat oven to 325 degrees. Prepare large tube or bundt pan by generously greasing. Set aside.
Add butter and sugar to stand mixing bowl and cream on medium speed until light and fluffy, about 3 – 5 minutes, using paddle attachment. Scrape down sides. Add vanilla, eggs, and sour cream, mixing until well combined, about 2 minutes. Add flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt in medium mixing bowl and whisk together. Alternate adding dry ingredients and milk, beginning, and ending with dry mix. Mix well. Fold in mini chocolate chips.
Divide the batter in half. Add cocoa powder to half the batter and stir until well combined. Using an extra large cookie scoop, scoop batter and add to pan, alternating between regular batter and chocolate batter. After all the batter is added to prepared pan, use an offset spatula to swirl the batter, creating a marbling effect. Bake for 60 minutes, or until done. Check by inserting a cake tester in cake. If cake is done, tester will come out clean. Cool the cake for about 10 -1 5 minutes, then invert the pan onto a cake plate or circle and cool completely on a wire rack.
