Waffles
Ingredients
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 cup whole milk
4 Tablespoons salted butter, melted + 2 Tablespoons for brushing waffle iron
2 large eggs
2 Tablespoons Imperial light brown sugar
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon maple extract
½ teaspoon salt
Instructions
Ingredients should be at room temp. Pre-heat waffle iron. Melt butter.
Add all-purpose flour, light brown sugar, baking powder and salt to large mixing bowl; whisk together. Add eggs, milk & maple extract and beat with electric mixer. Add to flour mixture and beat just until combined. Slowly pour melted butter into mixture and stir good.
Brush waffle iron with melted butter. Pour a generous half cup of batter into middle of regular size heated waffle iron making sure it goes to about ½ inch from the sides. Cook for about 2 – 3 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy. Serve with warm maple syrup.
