Cream Cheese Bars

Ingredients

Crust

1 package cake mix (any flavor)

1 egg

1 stick salted, melted butter

 

Filling

1 (8 ounce) cream cheese, softened

1 pound Imperial Powdered sugar

2 eggs

½ cup toasted and chopped pecans

½ cup Imperial powdered sugar

Instructions

Pre-heat oven to 325 degrees

In medium mixing bowl, combine cake mix, 1 egg, and melted butter.  Mix until combined.  Press into the bottom of a 9 x 13 pan.

Combine cream cheese, 1 pound powdered sugar and 2 eggs.  Mix with mixer until smooth.  Pour evenly over crust.  Sprinkle top with chopped pecans.  Bake for 40 minutes.  Will be soft; don’t overbake.  Remove from oven and sift remaining powdered sugar on top.  Set aside and let cool completely.  Cut into squares and store in airtight container.
