Honey Nut stacks of snacks
Ingredients
2 cups honey nut cheerios cereal
2 cups old fashioned or quick oats
1 ½ cups packed light brown sugar
1 cup salted butter
½ cup toasted and chopped pecans
2 teaspoons baking powder
½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
½ teaspoon salt
Instructions
Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees. Lightly butter sides and bottom of 9 x 13 baking dish.
Add brown sugar and butter to medium size saucepan. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until smooth. Remove from heat. Stir in honey nut cheerios, oats, baking powder, salt, ground cinnamon and toasted pecans and mix well. Spread the mixture evenly into 9 x 13 baking dish & bake for 16 – 18 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and firm. Place the pan on a wire rack and cool completely; this will take about 45 minutes. Did a knife into very hot water and dry off, then cut into 36 squares. Store bars in an airtight container, making sure bars are not touching each other (so they don’t stick together).
