Hershey’s Chocolate Cake
Ingredients
2 cups All purpose flour
2 cups granulated sugar
2 sticks salted butter
1 cup water
2 large eggs
1/2 cup sour cream
1/3 cup Hershey’s cocoa
1 Tablespoon vanilla extract
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
Instructions:
Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees. Prepare 2 (8” cake pans by generously greasing bottoms and sides. In a medium saucepan, add water and gradually stir in cocoa. Bring to a boil; add butter. Set suacepan off burner. Sift together flour, sugar, baking soda and salt; add to the hot mixture & stir til combined. Beat eggs in small bowl. Add a little of the egg to hot mixture until batter is no longer hot. Continue adding rest of eggs, sour cream and vanilla extract and stir well. Pour mixture into pans and bake for 30 minutes, or until toothpick comes out clean.
Cool cake in pans for about 5 - 8 minutes. Turn out onto rack and cool completely before frosting with Marshmallow butter cream frosting. (Recipe listed separately).
