Salisbury Steak with Gravy

Ingredients

3  pounds lean ground beef

3/4  cup breadcrumbs

3  teaspoons Worcestershire Sauce

3  teaspoons ground mustard

1 1/2 teaspoon onion powder

1 1/2 teaspoons black pepper

1  teaspoon salt

2  tablespoons olive oil, or avocado oil

Instructions

In a large bowl mix all the ingredients. Shape into round or oval patties, pressing together tight.

In a skillet over medium heat add the oil. Cook patties until no longer pink, 155F temperature. Turn patties over at least once. Remove from the skillet and set aside.

Gravy

Oil (enough for flour)

Butter (half of the amount of oil you use)

3/4  cup flour

4-5  cups of beef broth

1  teaspoon garlic powder

2  teaspoons Worcestershire sauce

1  teaspoon salt

1  teaspoon black pepper

In the same skillet (don't drain the grease off from the steaks) you cooked the steaks add 1/2 cup of oil and 1/4 cup of butter (depending on how much grease is left in the skillet). Add the flour, garlic powder, salt and pepper, stir and cook until flour is brown. Don't have the skillet on high heat, cook and brown flour on low heat so it won't burn. When the flour browns add the beef broth and Worcestershire sauce, stirring constantly. It will start to thicken, if it gets too thick add more broth. You want it thin because the longer you cook it it will thicken. Add the steaks back in the gravy and cook until your desired thickness of gravy.

Serve over mashed potatoes or cooked rice.
